BT? British Telecom or Brainless Twats?
[For non-UK viewers BT is an ancient Britsh communications company (being polite).]
My brother missed the Newcastle game at Old Trafford yesterday because I thought he was away. Why, because eveytime I rang him (about 10 times over two days) the phone was ringing and no answer.
Guess what. He was home and he couldn't hear it ring because it was wasn't working correctly.
Guess what. BT said the line was alright and suggested it was his equipment at fault! Recent work on the local exchange was obviously a coincidence.
And there's more..
I am about to go onto a broadband connection and selected a BT modem (I know, I know). The user guide suggested I would need to insert a Windows 98SE CD when asked to during the installation. The email below is the question I asked of BT support and the response I got.
--Email Question---
Can you answer this query please.
During set up of the modem using the CD, what if the screen asks for the Windows 98SE CD to be inserted. I don't have one.
Regards
Paul
---Response--
Thank you for your e-mail. I am sorry you are experiencing problems. If it asks for the 98 CD then the operating system requires files from it in order to install
the modem and it may not work if the files cannot be found.
I hope this information has been useful to you.
Please do not hesitate to get back to me should you need any further assistance.
Yours sincerely,
BT Voyager Technical Support

And there's more....
I've signed up with metronet.co.uk for the brodband service and they are excellent, but I HAVE TO PAY BT £60 FOR SOME BT TOSSER TO FLICK A SWITCH AND ENABLE METRONET TO SUPPLY ME.
Isn't the UK wonderful!
